Folders For Multiple Files

Sometimes it makes sense to create a folder for uploading multiple related files. For example, you may want a folder where you can upload all of your PPT files, or perhaps multiple files related to a certain topic you are covering. You can upload the files one at a time or all at once. Here's how you do it.

  1. Log into ACORN and enter your course.
  2. Near the top right corner of the window, click on the gear icon (view image) and select Turn editing on (view image).
  3. Click on the Add an activity or resource link in the appropriate week or topic, select Folder under RESOURCES, then click on the Add button.
  4. Type in a Name - this is the link that the students will click on to access the resource.
  5. Follow the instructions under Uploading Files To ACORN to upload your file(s) to the Content section of the page (drag and drop or advanced method). Remember that all files as well as any subdirectories (subfolders) and their contents will be visible to students. This is an all or nothing Show/Hide situation.
  6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on either Save and return to course or Save and display (if you wish to test what you have done).
